You Say Tomato, I Say Tomato...
Last weekend Emily cooked up a big batch of Green Tomato Chutney which looks absolutely delicious! She stored it in jars and is keeping it for Christmas presents (we have our fingers crossed that one will appear at Highland Angel HQ!) which got us thinking that it would be a fantastic recipe to share with just 10 weeks until the big day! If you'd like to make your own, here's how...

September Sweetness
As always, it's been a busy month at Highland Angel HQ. Our lovely team has expanded, we're getting ready for Christmas and have lots of new products and exciting plans in the pipeline. We also updated the Press section of our website to include our BRIT Awards coverage - take a look here. Inspired by the Great British Bake Off, we've also been busy in the kitchen, attempting to master the macaron. Here's how...

One Potato, Two Potato, Three Potato, More!
You say potato, I say potato... baked potatoes are a cheap and cheerful dinner but it's easy to become fed up with fillings like beans, tuna and cheese. Luckily, Buzzfeed have come up with a list of 23 fantastic fillings, perfect for light summer suppers! We've picked our favourite four but for the whole list (which is too good to resist), visit http://www.buzzfeed.com/arielknutson/amazing-ways-to-eat-a-baked-potato-for-dinner

Brownie Points
Elevenses are an important part of daily life at Highland Angel HQ. A few weeks ago, to mark Christina's last day, we enjoyed some delicious chocolate brownies. The recipe - from Hummingbird Bakery - is simple to follow and the results are sure to make you sing!

If you go down to the woods today...
... you're sure of a big surprise! Welcome to Erin Gleeson's neck of the woods - a former food photographer from New York City who moved to a cabin in the woods of North Carolina and never looked back. Erin's fabulous blog, The Forest Feast, offers "inspiring, healthy recipes which are easy to make after a long day at work, yet impressive enough for a party".

Auber-genius!
As the nights become brighter and the weather warmer, we're starting to feel like summer could be just around the corner! This week, we're sharing one of our favourite recipes - pepper and aubergine with lemon bulgar wheat - which would be perfect for a weekend BBQ if the rain stays away!

Fantabulous Fudge
I've always been a little wary of making sweets - homemade confectionery is, to me, the height of kitchen alchemy. But last weekend, I decided to overcome my fear of fudge and it turned out to be really rather simple. And addictive. And delicious.

Last month, Highland Angel started a book club - but what's a book club without baking?! These raspberry and coconut muffins are deliciously simple and sure to get you noticed at your next coffee morning. Here's how to make your own...

Out Of the Frying Pan
This is one of my favourite recipes - adapted from Jamie Oliver's noodle salad, it's a great mid-week dish and can also be served cold for yummy lunchtime leftovers or a pot luck dinner party dish. For the photographs, I made it with beef and brown rice but it also works well with noodles and chicken. I usually add an orange pepper and some peas to the dish too.

Finger Lickin' Good
Hooray - it's 2013 and we're back with a bang! Holidays are the perfect time to eat, drink and be merry but with a new year ahead, it's nice to have some fresh, healthy recipes to test out. Chicken pilaf is one of my favourite dishes and is something a little bit different, if you're looking for a weekend challenge or a new dinner party dish. The dish is great on its own or also served with toasted ciabatta and natural yoghurt! Enjoy!

Beans Means Business
Beany Cheese Crunch is a wintry one pot wonder. It's quick and easy to make, tastes great and is fabulous for lunchtime leftovers. The recipe can be easily altered to use whatever meat or tins you have in the kitchen but here's my favourite recipe:

"Cookies Are Made Of Butter And Love"
As a self-confessed cookie monster, I knew I had to give this concept a go the very first time I stumbled upon it. It's a popular gift idea in America and can be themed for any occasion with different recipes or ribbons. When filling the jar, it's a good idea to include the ingredients and directions - simply handwrite the recipe on a little card and fold it under the ribbon. Here's how to make your own...

If you can't stand the heat...
Green Thai Curry is one of my favourite dinner party dishes - it's spicy, colourful and tastes even better if prepared the night before, which is a bonus! A well cooked curry is sure to make your friends green with envy - here's my favourite recipe...

Souper Duper
Our Moroccan Chickpea Soup recipe is a great way to stay warm and cosy as the temperature outside drops and the leaves on the trees begin to turn golden brown. It's simple to make and tastes delicious - with a hint of spice and beautiful auburn colours, it's Autumn in a bowl!

Chicken Pie For The Soul
As the nights become darker and the days colder, what better way to welcome in the winter than with hearty, homemade comfort food? Our rustic recipe for chicken pot pie takes less than an hour to rustle up and is delight to dig into at a dinner party.

Soup Kitchen
Soup is one of my favourite things to make. It's cheap, healthy, always open to interpretation (depending on what's in your fridge) and tastes, well, souper duper. Below is my own recipe for carrot and lentil soup, a modified Delia classic (I've taken out all the complicated bits and ingredients I never seem to have in my kitchen). Every time I make it, the soup tastes slightly different - which for me is part of its charm.

Big Mac (& Cheese)
In most households, Sunday nights are reserved for two special activities: willing the weekend to last just a little bit longer and ironing. But if you've got time to tackle a new recipe in between the shirts and dread, our super duper mac & cheese is guaranteed to help you forget those Monday morning blues...

Neapolitan Naughtiness
Hummingbird Bakery's Raspberry Cheesecake Brownie tastes as good as it looks. It's one of the trickiest recipes I've tackled to date but if you fancy an afternoon in the kitchen it's the perfect cheesecake challenge...
