Dream A Little Dream

Let Sleeping Dogs Lie
(http://feedyourdesktop.com/download/sleeping-dog_w107.html)

Everyone loves a good snooze. Sleeping in on Sunday mornings, forty winks in your favourite armchair, a cheeky afternoon nap. But while you're dreaming about marrying Mr Darcy, winning the World Cup or being able to fly, have you ever wondered why?

A few years ago I was given a Dream Dictionary and have been fascinated by our nocturnal antics ever since. Dreams are a series of images, ideas and emotions that occur involuntarily in our minds during a stage of high activity sleep called REM (Rapid Eye Movement). They can last for just a few seconds or be many minutes long. Science has proven that, remember it or not, everybody dreams.

Dreams and their meanings have been a topic of scientific, philosophical and religious interest throughout history. Whenever I wake from a particularly puzzling siesta I'm eager to discover the meanings of my imagination. There are hundreds of dream interpretation websites out there but Dream Moods (http://www.dreammoods.com/dreamdictionary) and Dream Meanings (http://www.dreammeanings.org.uk) are in my opinion two of the best.

If you can't wait to study your slumber, here are the meanings of our five most common dreams:

1. Falling - insecure, overwhelmed or lacking in support.
2. Naked - awkward, vulnerable or exposed.
3. Teeth - unattractive, embarrassed - or bad teeth!
4. Being Chased - threatened by someone or something.
5. Unwell - emotionally hurt, afraid or ill.
