Forget haggis, neeps and tatties - here at Highland Angel HQ we've discovered another way to celebrate Burns' Night on 25 January! The Beauty Department (www.thebeautydepartment.com) have designed a quirky tartan manicure which is perfect for Friday night. Here's how to decorate your digits... Scotch tape at the ready!
1. Select 3 or 4 colours of nail varnish and paint each colour onto a strip of tape. Allow the polish to dry then cut the tape into small lengths, with a variety of widths.
2. Paint your base coat, using a neutral colour.
3. Start building your tartan, overlapping one vertical and one horizontal strip. Don't worry about the strips being too long - it's best to start from the inside corner of your nail and move outwards.
4. Repeat with another set of stickers.
5. Keep going until you reach the opposite corner of your nail.
6. Using nail scissors or clippers, trim the excess sticker. Apply a top coat to prevent the tape from peeling.
