Shoe Be Doo Be Doo

Diamonds, Schmiamonds {http://lockerz.com/d/5163162}

Forget diamonds... high heels are a girl's best friend. Few things in life are as enjoyable as a new pair of shoes - their immaculate look, how they smell, the feeling you could give Heidi Klum a run for her money as you strut down the hallway catwalk feeling six feet tall.

However, like any whirlwind romance, the relationship inevitably sours. They pinch. You wince. It's hard to imagine a future together. But before you throw in the towel and go running back to your trusty Toms, read our Sole Searching guide and you might live Happily Ever After after all.

Sole Sisters... Our Top Tips

1. Sock It To 'Em
Wear your new shoes for an hour or so each day with a pair of socks to help them stretch. Pick a sock carefully, depending on how tight your new shoes are - a thick walking sock will work wonders but if you only need a little stretch, a normal sports sock will do. Wearing slightly damp socks also helps to stretch and soften the shoe.

2. Moleskin Magic
This is a great tip for shoes which only pinch in certain parts such as your little toes or heels. Simply place some moleskin on the affected areas and soak your feet in warm water, causing the moleskin to expand. Then put your shoes back on and wear them for a day, stretching only the right places.

3. Well Heeled Advice
New shoes can be slippery and there's nothing more embarrassing than taking a tumble on the dancefloor. Using a small piece of sandpaper to scuff the bottom of your shoe will help keep you grounded. Scratching your soles with a fork also works well.

4. Bend And Snap
Loosen your shoes by bending them upwards and downwards a few times, then blasting them with a hairdryer for two or three minutes. Repeat until your feet feel more comfortable, taking care not to damage your shoes.
