It is always exciting, when you live in a city and know it well, to discover somewhere new. Edinburgh is constantly keeping me on my toes and this week, surprised with a little hidden gem called Roseleaf.
If, as a child (or adult) you loved playing dress up and arranging fabulous tea parties with friends, Roseleaf is a must. Located in Leith, this quirky, vintage-styled bar hosts Mad Hatter tea parties for £10 a head with delicious cakes, retro hats to wear and most importantly pot-tails - cocktails served in tea pots in the style of 1920s American speakeasies.
Roseleaf is cleverly decorated with fabulous finishing touches - flock wallpaper adorns the walls while the window sills are cluttered with trinkets, typewriters, photographs and board games. A home from home with an impressive drinks and food menus (bread is baked fresh on the premises), is the perfect place to spend a Sunday afternoon. In the words of the owners, Roseleaf has it all: "Food, drinks and great banter". To find out more, click visit www.roseleaf.co.uk.
