Me And You, Just Us Two

Fancy Fizz {http://www.sadieandstella.blogspot.com}

Fish & chips, Ant & Dec, Sunday mornings & newspapers. There are certain things that belong together - like champagne & strawberries. This weekend, while browsing my favourite blogs, I came across a stylish idea for decorating drinks which has inspired the first post in our "Hostess With The Mostest" dinner party series.

To create your own gorgeous garnishes, all you need is a handful of strawberries (the bigger the better), a sharp knife, some champagne flutes or wine glasses and a bottle of bubbly.

1. To begin, carefully cut the strawberries into half - one strawberry will make two hearts if you slice evenly.
2. With each half, crop the top and shape the strawberry into a heart shape. Take care - it's better to slowly shape the heart rather than cut it too thin and have to start again.
3. When you're happy with your hearts, turn them sideways and cut a slit from the bottom point halfway up the heart - like making melba toast. This will allow you to slot the hearts onto your glasses.
4. Pour your bubbly. Add a little strawberry puree to make a fabulous, fruity bellini. Enjoy!

Bottoms Up!
